Hi! I am Dan Mooney, the founder/owner of Mooney Marketing based in Bend, Oregon.
My life is a whirlwind… from hiking to biking to website building to marketing to photography, I've done it all!
But I wouldn't be half the man and business owner I am today if it weren't for the adventurous, BMX-loving Dan Mooney I started off as at the ripe age of 8.
You heard it right.
From BMX to a marketing specialist, it's definitely been a wild ride. And what better place to start off my story than in Chandler, Arizona?

Growing up, I spent all of my free time riding BMX bikes or going to BMX races; some could say my brother and I were obsessed. And my parents were right there with us every step of the way.
At 12 years old, I knew being the editor and head photographer for BMXer Magazine was what I wanted to do. I was so confident in this plan that I walked right up to the current editor, Gork Barrette and told him I was going to take his job one day. ( I guess you can say my passion and determination at the age of 12 was stronger than my fear of social humiliation.)
After a long 6 years of watching from the sideline, my dreams became a reality when I was hired on as an editor's assistant under Gork for BMXer magazine at the age of 18. This was 1997 and I was fresh out of High School. I worked as the darkroom dude and helped Cheryl Bustamante as much as I could with making half tones and developing all the BMX film. There was even one day I can remember that I was in the darkroom from 8am to 8pm developing and making half tones. It was the dream job at $9 an hour.
in 2014, I eventually moved up to full-time editor for BMXer Magazine and was able to kickstart my knowledge for business owning, marketing, and so much more.
Although I loved Arizona and my time at BMXer Magazine, the outdoorsy lifestyle was calling me, and what better place than Bend, Oregon?

After leaving my home state of Arizona and moving to Oregon, I found myself in a plethora of jobs that all helped me build the skills that Mooney Marketing is based on.
From being a marketing director at The Redmond, Oregon Chamber of Commerce to Wild Ride Brewing to Smart Shopper Magazine, I learned from the best of the best.
